Many thought that Spivac’s ground and grappling game would prove too much for Ciryl Gane last time out, but the ‘Good Kid’s’ ferocious power proved too much as he secured a second-round TKO and ‘Performance of the Night’ bonus. Spivac is arguably a more effective finisher than Tybura, too. After all, 14 of his 16 wins have been achieved either by stoppage or submission (87.5%), with only two being decided by the judges’ scorecards. He has only once dropped a points decision, too, so he’ll expect to end this bout early if he can get on top of Tybura. This remains a significant ‘if,’ however.

Overall, four of his last five UFC bouts have ended with a technical knockout, with Spivac winning two of these (against Augusto Sakai and Greg Hardy) and losing against Gane and Tom Aspinall.
