✔️ Wimbledon Tennis Betting Tips
Now that you know some of the most fancied players for Wimbledon 2024, I am going to provide you with some useful Wimbledon betting tips for this year’s tournament.
Who Will Win the Men's Title?
There are plenty of players in this year’s tournament who will fancy their chances of going deep into the competition. There is obviously seven times champion, Novak Djokovic, but with some doubts surrounding the legendary Serb after his knee surgery, Jannik Sinner, the 2024 Australian Open Champion; Carlos Alcaraz, the defending Wimbledon Champion; and Roland Garros, the 2024 runner-up, Alexander Zverev will all feel confident of taking the 2024 Wimbledon title.
Top Tip 1: Bet on Novak Djokovic to win: the fact that Novak Djokovic is even competing at this year’s Wimbledon is remarkable, considering he had to pull out of his French Open quarter-final with an injury. He subsequently had to have surgery on his knee, but once again, the seven times Wimbledon champion has shown his physical capabilities are unrivalled. He comes into Wimbledon 2024 believing he can compete for the title. Yes, he has yet to win in 2024, but it would come as no surprise for his first title of 2024 to be arguably the biggest of his career as he bids for Grand Slam number twenty-five.
Who Is the Dark Horse among the Men?
While I have tipped Novak Djokovic to win his eighth Wimbledon title, there are definitely players at longer odds who can make their presence felt in this year’s tournament. Poland’s Hubert Hurkacz, Britain’s Jack Draper, and Australia's Alex De Minaur are all players worth considering in any Wimbledon prediction.
Top Tip 2: Bet on Hubert Hurkacz as an outsider: Hurkacz is a former semi-finalist at the All-England club, having reached the last four back in 2021. During that tournament, he defeated Roger Federer in the quarter-final, thus becoming the last man to face the great Swiss in a singles competition. Hurkacz has recently started showing the kind of form that brought him that run in 2021, reaching the final in the Halle Open before losing to Jannik Sinner in two tie-break sets. His big serve and powerful ground strokes make him a threat on grass, and he is worth considering as an each-way bet for Wimbledon 2024.
Who Will Win the Women's Title?
With the hotly fancied Aryna Sabalenka having to withdraw from Wimbledon 2024 with a shoulder injury, there is a competitive buzz to the women’s draw in this year’s tournament. World number one, Iga Swiatek will hope that 2024 will finally be the year it all comes together for her at SW19 while other top players like the 2022 champion, Elena Rybakina; 2023 US Open champion, Coco Gauff; and two-time Wimbledon runner-up, Ons Jabeur will all fancy their chances.
Top Tip 3: Bet on Jabeur to win: Jabeur is a two-time finalist at Wimbledon (2022 and 2023), so she has more than proved that her game matches up well with the courts at the All-England Club. Furthermore, the draw appears to have been kinder to her than some of her main rivals, so Wimbledon 2024 might be where Ons Jabeur finally becomes a Grand Slam winner.
Who Is the Dark Horse among the Women?
This year’s championship will be as open as ever, so there will be lots of women who will back themselves to emerge victorious. Watch for outsiders such as Naomi Osaka, Madison Keys, Emma Raducanu, and Jess Pegula. Could we see ultimate tennis history made by one of them this year?
Top Tip 4: Bet on Pegula to spring a surprise: the American comes into this year’s tournament on the back of winning her first grass court title at the Berlin Open, so she should be full of confidence ahead of a tilt at Wimbledon. Her ability to hang in points and hit aggressively from both wings should make her a threat to any player she faces.
Below is a summary of my top Wimbledon tips:
Categories | Prediction | Reason | Odds |
---|---|---|---|
Men's Winner | Novak Djokovic |
| 4.00 |
Men's Dark Horse | Hubert Hurkacz |
| 15.00 |
Women's Winner | Ons Jabeur |
| 13.00 |
Women's Dark Horse | Jessica Pegula |
| 19.00 |
🏆Wimbledon 2024 Potential Winners
In this section of my Wimbledon betting guide, I am going to take a more in-depth look at my top men’s and women’s champions for this year. I will look at what characteristics of their playing styles make them a contender for the Wimbledon title and how they have fared so far in 2024.
Novak Djokovic
The Serbian superstar has 24 Grand Slam titles to his name in what has been a legendary and record-breaking career. His preferred surface would probably be an outdoor hard court, but his record at Wimbledon on the grass is superb. He is a seven-time winner of the tournament, and few would bet against him ending his barren 2024 season with Wimbledon title number eight.
Jannik Sinner
The 22-year-old Italian is now officially the best player in the world, having become the world number one on the 10th of June. He is the first Italian, male or female, to reach the top of the world rankings. Sinner is an aggressive baseliner and has one of the best two-handed backhands in the game. His forehand is also a strength though due to his short take back. He also possesses a powerful first serve when he gets it firing consistently. He has had a great 2024 so far, winning the Australian Open and adding three further titles.
Carlos Alcaraz
The 21-year-old Alcaraz already has three Grand Slams to his name, with him and Sinner looking to be the next great tennis rivalry over the next two decades. He is the defending Wimbledon champion, using his devastating groundstrokes to take him to the top of the game. His forehand is one of the most complete shots ever seen in tennis as he can hit it flat or add spin to give him more margin over the net. His well disguised drop shot is another string to his bow, and he comes into Wimbledon having just won the 2024 French Open.
Iga Swiatek
The Polish player is one of the most dominant forces in the women’s game, already clocking up five Grand Slam titles. Her success on the court is largely due to just how aggressive she is. Because of how much her game is based on offence, she can typically fall foul of unforced errors, which is why she has failed to hit the heights at Wimbledon as she has at some of the other Slams. Nonetheless, she has had a fine 2024 so far, winning the French Open and five other tour titles.
Coco Gauff
The 2023 US Open champion is the new star of American tennis in the wake of Serena William’s retirement. She has had a solid if unspectacular 2024, having won one title and made it to the semi-finals in the Australian and French Opens. She undoubtedly has the skill and athleticism to be a force at Wimbledon, and she has a backhand that is the envy of plenty of players on the tour. Her forehand can sometimes be her weakness, however, and she will have to bring her A game during the two weeks to add a second Grand Slam at Wimbledon 2024.
Ons Jabeur
The Tunisian is a three-time Grand Slam finalist, including twice at Wimbledon, which shows she has the game and the ability to work her way through to the latter stages of these big events. She plays a mixed game that allows her to confuse and frustrate her opponents with spins, slices, and misdirection. She is a fan favourite to make her Grand Slam breakthrough at Wimbledon 2024.

💸 Best Wimbledon Betting Markets
In this section of the guide, I will show you the different kinds of markets available to you for betting on Wimbledon 2024.
Outright Winner/Each Way
The outright winner/each-way market is very easy to navigate: all you have to do is pick the player you think is going to go on and win the tournament. If you think a player will make a deep run in the competition but are unsure if they have what it takes to win outright, then you can bet each-way on a player, which means your bet will win, albeit at a smaller rate (usually half), as long as your chosen selection makes it to the final.
Match Betting
This is perhaps the easiest bet type on offer. You just need to pick who will come through in a match - either a specific player or a doubles pair, depending on the format of the match. If your selection wins, you win your bet; if they lose, you also lose your bet. It's as simple as that!
Live Betting
Live betting means placing a wager on an event after the first ball has been served. There are lots of outcomes you can bet on in a live betting market, and when it comes to live betting on Wimbledon, some of the most popular bets will be:
- Who will win the following game?
- Who will win the next set?
- Who will score the next point?
Handicap Betting
Handicap betting is a useful bet type when there is a potential mismatch between the quality of players or doubles partnerships and you want to level the playing field by introducing a hypothetical (dis)advantage. For example, Novak Djokovic were to playing a lower ranked player, you could give him a 1.5 set disadvantage, which would be mean he would have to win the match by two clear sets for your bet to be successful.
