The runner-up will leave with just under half of that amount at £35,000. The final will see an increase in frames played from the best of 9 to the best of 11. Final Predictions
Graeme Dott vs Ronnie O’Sullivan
We think Graeme Dott and Ronnie O’Sullivan have what it takes to reach the final. This prediction would pit the world’s second best snooker player O’Sullivan against 47th ranked Dott. This season, ‘The Pocket Dynamo’ Dott has an average ‘frames won’ percentage of 53.55% which compares to ‘The Rocket’ O’Sullivan’s statistic of 58.63%.
The pair have a long history and have played eleven matches against each other in total. O’Sullivan has dominated the wins with seven to four, however Dott managed to get the most recent win during the quarter-final of the World Grand Prix in 2020 with a final score of 5-3.
Many statistics point in O’Sullivan’s favour to do well, and if he wins the 2020 European Masters, he will add another ranking title to his collection of 38. Additionally, O’Sullivan currently has the highest break in the tournament at 141 and will receive a £5,000 for this feat if no other player manages to beat this. Despite all his success, the six-time world champion has recently shared that he suffers from ‘snooker depression’ after matches and finds talking about his performance in the hours after them often adds to his low state. If his head is in the right place, we believe he can dominate the final and win the 2022 European Masters.
Our match prediction: Ronnie O’Sullivan to win.
