A huge match takes place on Sunday afternoon as defending 4 time All-Ireland champions Limerick take on Cork in the All Ireland semi final. Limerick are favourites to win the ‘All Ireland’ championship for a 5th consecutive year which would be the first time that 5 in a row has been achieved in hurling. The match takes place in Croke Park, and the match is already sold out. The atmosphere should be electric between two of the All Ireland title favourites. The match throws in at 16:00 GMT. The match will be live on RTE 2 for Republic of Ireland viewers, BBC for Northern Irish and British viewers and GAA Go for those outside Britain and Ireland. The sides last met on the 11th of May in the Munster round-robin stage, with Cork coming out on top in a match that saved their season following back-to-back defeats in their opening 2 Munster games. Cork won on a scoreline of 3-28 to 3-26 in one of the games of the past decade. Cork scored a stoppage time penalty to win the game in a high scoring game that saw 72 points. Limerick looked extremely strong in the Munster final win versus Clare, scoring 1-26, and they will be out for revenge against Cork, who have given Limerick their only championship defeat of the season.
🏆 Limerick vs Cork Prediction
Limerick take on Cork in a huge All Ireland semi final in Croke Park, with throw-in time being 16:00 GMT. Limerick are aiming to win 5 All Ireland’s in a row and 6 in 7 years. They have been the team to beat for a number of years now, and Cork will know that they are good enough to do just that, having won in the Munster championship back in May in an epic game. If the match on Sunday is even half the standard of the game earlier in the year, then we are in for an amazing game and spectacle. Limerick are fresh off winning the Munster championship, beating Clare in the final on a scoreline of 1-26 to 1-20. Cork finished 3rd in the Munster championship after ending their campaign with a victory versus Tipperary and, as mentioned before, Limerick. They defeated a resilient Offaly and a much improved Dublin in the preliminary Quarterfinal and Quarterfinal, although their performances were not up to the standard of their performances versus Limerick and Tipperary. Cork are much improved this year but they are also inconsistent. It is hard to know which Cork shows up on Sunday. If the Cork that showed up versus Offaly and Dublin shows up against Limerick they will have no chance but if they perform to the ability they showed in those last two Munster championship games they could be heading to an All Ireland final. As a result of this inconsistency, I am going for a Limerick win on Sunday.
My Prediction: 🏆Limerick to win!
🔎 Limerick vs Cork Performance Analysis
The statistics from these sides' last meeting back in May make for interesting reading. Two very important statistics in hurling are shot efficiency, which is the percentage of scores per shot taken, and turnovers lost, which is possession lost both in the tackle and through errors in possession. Limerick had the better of both these statistics but not the better of the scoreline. In this game, Limerick had 15 turnovers lost, whereas Cork had significantly more with 21. Cork had a total of 40 shots, scoring 31, which is an efficiency of 77%. Of these 40 shots, 25 were from play, and they scored 18 of these, which is an efficiency of 72%. Limerick had 37 shots and scored 29, which is an efficiency of 78%. Of these 37 shots, 25 of these were from play, scoring 20 which is an efficiency of 80%. Possession is key in hurling, and this is shown in their puck-outs taken on this day. Cork tended to go short on their puck outs, which led to them winning 76% of their puck outs whereas Limerick took more of a chance going long and won 58% of their own puck outs. This is the stand-out stat that gave Cork victory last time out because Limerick were more efficient in their shots and also made fewer turnovers in possession.
💯 Limerick vs Cork Betting Odds
Limerick are the favourites for this match on Sunday and this is no surprise. Cork did win the last meeting between the 2 but Limerick have been the best team in the country from 2018 until now, winning 5 of the last 6 All Ireland championships, only failing to win in 2019. They are going for 5 in a row this year, which has never been done in hurling, although it was achieved by Dublin footballers in 2019. Cork have improved this year and are real contenders for Limerick, but it is no surprise to see Limerick as favourites amongst the bookmakers sites.

✔️ Limerick vs Cork Betting Tips
Limerick and Cork is a very intriguing prospect in the All Ireland Semi Final and here are some tips if you are unsure how the game will transpire.
Tip 1: Limerick to Win
Limerick suffered their only defeat of this year's championship when they lost to Cork in Round 3 of the Munster championship. Limerick scored a massive score of 3-26 on that day, but it was somehow still not enough as they conceded 3-28 in an epic game. The sides have met in the Munster championship every year since 2021, and they also met in the 2021 All-Ireland final. Limerick have been victorious in the two sides 4 previous meetings before their meeting earlier in the season. Limerick have won 6 of their last 9 meetings with Cork since 2013.
The sides have only met twice at Croke Park this century, in the aforementioned 2021 All Ireland final and also in the All Ireland semi final of 2018. Limerick were victorious on both these occasions on a scoreline of 3-32 to 1-22 in 2021 and 3-32 to 2-31 in 2018 in a game that is remembered for an unbelievable save by Limerick goalkeeper Nicky Quaid that sent Limerick to the All Ireland final where they defeated Galway. Limerick have the better of the sides recent meetings and also have the better recent record when the sides play at Croke Park. The best odds for a Limerick win on Sunday can be found with DirectionBet Sport with odds of 1.38.
Tip 2: Total Point Over 56.5
When the sides met in the Munster championship earlier in the year, there were 72 points, with Cork scoring 3-28 (37 points) and Limerick scoring 3-26 (35 points). The last time these sides met in the All Ireland semi final was 2018, with the total points on this occasion being 78 points with Limerick scoring 3-32 (41 points) and Cork scoring 2-31 (37 points). We can also look at both sides' scoring averages per match in the Munster championship and All Ireland to guess how many points will be scored on Sunday. Limerick have scored a total 9-124 across 5 matches which is an average of 1.8-24.8 which can be rounded to 2-25 which is a total of 31 points. Cork have scored a total of 15-158 across 6 games, which is an average of 2.5-26.3, which can be rounded to 3-26, which is a total of 35 points. By these averages we can guess that this match will have a total of 66 points. Boylesports are offering a total points of over 56.5 points. These two teams bring out the best in each other and are high-scoring affairs, so over 56.5 points seem highly likely this weekend, and Boylesports are giving odds of 1.80 for this eventuality.
Tip 3: Over 3.5 Goals
There were 6 goals when these sides met in May. In their last five meetings in the championship, there has been a total of 20 goals scored, which is an average of 4 goals per game. In these meetings Limerick have scored 13 goals whereas Cork have scored 7 goals. In the championship this season, both sides have found goals easy to come by. Limerick have only failed to score a goal in 1 of their championship meetings scoring 0-30 in their final round robin game versus Waterford. They have scored 9 goals in 5 championship games this season which is an average of 1.8 which can be rounded to 2 goals per game. Cork have scored a total of 15 goals across six championship games scoring in all but one game which is an average of 2.5 goals per game which can be rounded to 3 goals. The signs point to goals being scored by both these sides on Sunday and there are good odds for over 3.5 goals being scored with Boylesports offering odds of 2.20 and would be a great bet if you have any free bets.
