It was inevitable that Max Verstappen would return to winning ways at some point this season, but few could have envisaged the Dutchman snapping his losing streak in the spectacular manner that he did last time out. The Dutchman climbed from 17th on the grid to prevail in Sao Paulo, as he produced an incredible performance in the rain to finish +19.477 seconds ahead of Alpine’s Esteban Ocon. Verstappen now has a 62-point advantage in the Formula One Drivers’ Championship, and could potentially seal the title with a win in Las Vegas. In this detailed F1 betting guide, I’ll assess his chancing of winning in Sin City while offering my own Las Vegas Grand Prix betting tips!
🎯Key Points Ahead of the Las Vegas Grand Prix
- Verstappen’s stunning win in Brazil has left him 62 points clear at the top of the Drivers’ Championship, with a total of 86 still to play for. It was the Dutchman’s eighth GP win in 2024, while the Red Bull driver has now triumphed in 27 of the 43 races he has contested since the beginning of 2023 (63%).
- Despite Verstappen’s win in Sao Paolo, Red Bull have slipped to third in the 2024 Constructors’ table. They have accumulated 544 points during the 21 races contested so far this season, while McLaren (593 points) and Ferrari (557) are placed first and second respectively. McLaren are now clear favourites to win their first Constructors’ Championship since 1998.
- During Verstappen’s incredible run in Sao Paolo, the Dutchman recorded the fastest lap time of 1:20.472. This was significantly faster than any other competing driver, while it’s the first time that the RB driver has achieved this accolade since the Japanese Grand Prix in Suzuka on April 7th, 2024.
Las Vegas Grand Prix Betting Odds
Ireland’s best betting sites are hedging their bets when picking the most likely winner of the Las Vegas Grand Prix. However, Lando Norris is the narrow betting favourite to triumph in Sin City, with an average price of 3.35 implying a 29.85% probability of a victory for the McLaren driver.
However, Verstappen can be backed in the win market at around 3.40, suggesting that he has a 29.41% chance of prevailing at the Las Vegas Street Circuit. So, I’m expecting a much closer and more keenly contested race than we saw in Brazil, with Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc also priced as short as 3.65 to win outright. Here’s a glimpse at the latest Las Vegas Grand Prix betting odds!

🏁 Circuit Breakdown & Race Condition
The Las Vegas Street Circuit is established as the second longest track on the F1 calendar, spanning 6.201km and a total race distance of 309.958km. This particular circuit only hosted its first Grand Prix last year, although previous Las Vegas F1 races took place in 1981 and 1982 at Caesars Palace.
The new track is situated in the heart of Las Vegas, while it has been designed as a classic street circuit that encompasses 17 winding turns. It also takes in local sights like the Bellagio, the Venetian and the aforementioned Caesars Place, while its average speeds are similar to the Monza track. The latter is known as F1’s ‘temple of speed’ and tends to suit the fastest cars and drivers.
While the Las Vegas track features an elongated straight that’s ideal for overtaking, it’s largely dominated by 90° corners and a highly challenging layout. Ultimately, it suits constructors like Ferrari, whose cars perform best when they’re equipped with a low downforce configuration. The improved and well balanced RB20 will also be expected to do well here, and could produce another exceptional run or two at the Las Vegas Grand Prix in 2024.
Interestingly, the 2024 Las Vegas GP will take place under the lights, and although it should be dry, temperatures are forecast to dip under 10 degrees. This can cause tyres to lose grip during the course of the race, so teams will have to make effective tyre management of key component of their strategy in Vegas.
My Las Vegas Grand Prix Prediction: Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) to win 🏎️
🏆 Las Vegas Grand Prix Betting Tips
At this stage, you should know a little more about the pre-race odds and the nature of the Las Vegas Street Circuit. To further inform your Las Vegas Grand Prix betting picks, I’ve also prepared some expert tips and insights. These include:
- Winner – Charles Leclerc (Ferrari)
- Points Finish – Carlos Sainz (Ferrari)
- Fastest Lap Time – Lando Norris (McLaren)
Race Winner
There’s no doubt that the Vegas track will suit Ferrari’s preferred low downforce configuration. What’s more, the talented Charles Leclerc has earned a podium finish in six of his previous eight F1 races, winning two of these in Texas and Monza. The latter victory was achieved at the similar Monza track, while it should be noted that Leclerc stormed to pole position ahead of the 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix and ultimately finished second and just 2.070 seconds behind Max Verstappen.
With the Dutchman and Lando Norris also likely to be preoccupied with one another’s performance in Sin City, I’m backing Leclerc to claim his fourth win of the season at a price of 3.80 with Directionbet Sports. Points Finish
Carlos Sainz may also benefit from Ferrari’s natural advantage in Las Vegas, especially as he is also in a decent run of form. He’s certainly worth consideration if you’re going to bet on the Las Vegas Grand Prix. He won the Mexican Grand Prix by +4.705 seconds from Lando Norris after a superb performance, for example, before trailing in second behind his teammate Leclerc by just 8.562 seconds at the US Grand Prix.
Sainz has now won two races in the 2024 campaign and amassed 244 points so far, and is on course to record his best ever performance in an F1 season. I expect him to be highly competitive in Las Vegas, while he can be backed to achieve a podium finish at a price of 1.74 with Goldenbet Sports.
Fastest Lap Time
McLaren have leveraged a higher downforce configuration since the race weekend during the Baku Grand Prix , and this may put the constructor at a slight competitive disadvantage against Ferrari in Nevada.
However, their cars are still incredibly quick, while the long straight at the Las Vegas Street Circuit will enable them to build speed and remain relatively competitive throughout. There’s certainly value in picking a McLaren driver to record the fastest lap time here, especially as Oscar Piastri achieved this objective with a time of 1:35.490 in 2023.
However, I’m backing Lando Norris to record the quickest lap this time around, particularly as he has outpaced his teammate in every race since Silverstone on July 7th. Although I’m still waiting for some odds on this market, it may represent an excellent use of any available free bets that you have access to!
