📋 Brazilian Grand Prix Key Points
- Formula 1 first arrived in Brazil for a championship in 1973, and the Brazilian Grand Prix 2024 will mark the first time the race has returned to the circuit since 2019.
- World Champion Max Verstappen will be joining the race after securing his 17th win last year. He currently leads the drivers’ standings with 354 points and 110 podium finishes.
- Lewis Hamilton produced the fastest lap in a Brazilian Grand Prix in 2019 with a time of 1:07.281. This year, he has been performing well on track, and it’s likely that he will attempt to achieve another fastest-lap win before the season ends.

🏎️ Circuit Breakdown and Race Condition
The Interlagos Circuit, officially known as the Autódromo José Carlos Pace, is a 4.3-kilometer track in São Paulo known for its mix of elevation changes, sweeping curves, and fast straights. The circuit features 15 turns, several overtaking zones, and a counterclockwise layout which makes it challenging for drivers due to increased G-forces on the drivers’ necks and shoulders.
São Paulo’s climate around November is usually warm and humid, but rain showers are frequent, especially in the afternoon. Should it rain come race day, it could dramatically alter the outcome of the race, as we’ve seen in previous years where unexpected rain led to high-stakes gambles on tyre strategies and battles for position. Teams and drivers who excel in adapting to changing conditions, like Lewis Hamilton, tend to have a distinct advantage here. Ahead of the 2024 F1 Brazilian Grand Prix, there’s likely to be a 24°c track temperature and possibly winds that could reduce car speed and increase spins.
✔️ Brazilian Grand Prix Betting Tips
If you are going to bet on the Brazilian Grand Prix, you will have to identify the best markets for your bets. As you will see in this section of my betting guide, very few drivers come close to competing with reigning champion, Max Verstappen. I’ve prepared some expert Brazilian Grand Prix betting tips to help you make informed bets:
- Winner – Max Verstappen
- Points Finish – Lando Norris
- Fastest Lap Time – Lewis Hamilton
Race Winner
Looking at the current F1 standings, Max Verstappen is leading with a commanding points advantage of 362 points, 7 wins, and 12 podium finishes. Red Bull’s Verstappen has not just won many circuits this year, but he’s likely to follow in his footsteps from last year’s win and walk home with the title on November 3, 2024. He received a penalty for forcing Norris off the track on lap 10 at turn four for a fight for second place. He got another penalty for leaving the track to gain an advantage at turn 8, so Verstappen will be looking to recover from these hitches to win the race.
The season’s standings also show that McLaren’s Lando Norris and Ferrari’s Charles LeClerc are Verstappen’s main contenders. Norris is currently 46 points behind Max Verstappen with 3 wins, while LeClerc is in third place with 291 points and 3 wins. You should also keep an eye out for Carlos Sainzwho just recorded his 4th win in F1 at the Mexican Grand Prix.
Points Finish
While I expect Max Verstappen to win the 2024 Brazilian Grand Prix, any of the first six drivers in the F1 standings is likely to get a spot for points finish. This is a less risky wager to place for anyone looking to secure a winning bet from this race. Despite struggling to beat the reigning champion, Verstappen, in last year’s race, Norris came out on top in 2nd place. The McLaren driver also survived a skirmish with Red Bull’s title driver to secure second place in the Mexican GP. This means Verstappen and Norris will be highly likely to contend for a podium finish.
After his recent win at the Mexican Grand Prix, a third contender worth wagering on for a podium finish is Carlos Sainz. This is only his fourth career win, but he finished seven points ahead of Norris, so there’s a chance that he might be joining Formula One’s top drivers on the podium.
Fastest Lap Time
In the history of Formula One, Lewis Hamilton is the player with the highest wins for fastest lap time, winning the DHL Fastest Lap Award six times. He has also produced the fastest lap (1:07.281) at a Brazilian Grand Prix since the race’s inception. The former world number one has had a pretty good record since the beginning of this season.
Apart from Lewis Hamilton, I will be willing to put my money on Charles LeClerc who recently won his third DHL Fastest Lap Award of 2024 at the just-ended Mexico City GP. Once the Brazilian Grand Prix results are in, I will be back with predictions for the Las Vegas GP which promises to be a thrilling race.
