Jack Guing
Jack is a copywriter whose experience lies in the field of performance analysis. He has worked as a performance analyst across the sport of GAA for a number of years with many different GAA teams but has also used performance analysis in the sport of soccer in his thesis writing for his Master's in Sports Performance.
He is a keen sports fan with a love for performance analysis and wishes to use this data-driven style that is seen in performance analysis in his writing. Jack knows a data-driven style can transform over to writing and engage the audience by giving them a different perspective - especially when it comes to sports!
Performance Analysis Experience:
- Performance Analyst for Edenderry GAA Men’s Senior Footballers - 2019-2021
- Performance Analyst for Offaly GAA Men’s Senior Footballers - 2019-2022
- Performance Analyst for Clonbullogue GAA Men’s Senior Footballers - 2023
For these roles, Jack provided both in-game and post-game statistics using analysis software such as Hudl and Dartfish, while also using Statistical Software for Excel to provide statistics on each player. He also gave video analysis presentations on the opposition before games.
Education:
- Bachelor of Arts in English and History - Maynooth University: 2018-2021
- Master of Science in Sports Performance - University of Limerick: 2023-2024
Jack's educational background, more evidently with his English degree, has helped improve and enhance his skills in content writing due to the intense amount of writing involved. Jack's master's course provided him with vital information about sports and what drives performance, including performance analysis as well as what is involved in nutrition and strength and conditioning.
Personal Interests
Jack's main interest is sports. He enjoys watching different sports but has an avid interest in GAA, soccer, and golf. He enjoys attending and watching GAA and soccer matches mainly following his county Offaly in GAA and supporting Liverpool in soccer. He watches both and plays golf although, in his opinion, the golf is a very poor standard more often than not.
